Can You Be Found?

“But it isn’t easy,” said Pooh. “Because Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.”

-A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner

Do you have a place where you can be found? A place that is quiet, without distractions? A place where your thoughts and ideas are free to come and linger a while?

I have a little room. There is a desk, bookshelf, guitar and window. Always a window.

It doesn’t have to be a room, though, it could be a trail or a river. It could be a sand dune or even your car. A place where you feel safe, where no one judges. Here, you can talk or sing aloud. Nobody cares.

Inspiration needs room to bud and we need to breathe deeply. Be restored. Sometimes we simply need to stop so that Poems and Hums can find us.

And when they come? Write them down or sing them. Give them substance and allow them to live. Even if you are the only one that ever sees or knows about them.

When you visit this place, don’t forget to invite God in. Your thoughts, fears, joys, ideas, hopes, all matter to Him. Let Him shine on each one and see where He will take you.

“…it matters to him concerning you.”

Oh, wow, Carolyn, this is wonderful. Another one to read and reread.

Thanks, Kaaren. I hope you have a spot where you can be found, as well! The other challenge is to take the time to spend there. Life gets so busy, doesn’t it?
